If the new ReBake Abler electric motorcycle looks like it might share a bit of DNA with Sweden’s dearly departed CAKE, there’s a good reason for that.
📌 The Core Development
ReBake Motors has officially unveiled its first electric two-wheeler at EICMA 2026 in Milan, introducing the Abler as a highly modular, utility-focused electric moped and light motorcycle.
Behind the new Swedish company is founder and CEO Karl Ytterborn, who spent eight years at CAKE from its founding in 2016 through 2024. CAKE famously built some of the most interesting minimalist electric motorcycles and utility bikes on the market before ultimately collapsing after failing to secure additional funding. Ytterborn says ReBake is intended to apply many of the lessons learned during that experience, while eliminating unnecessary cost and complexity.
🔍 Background & Sector Context
Its chunky 42mm aluminum tube frame isn’t just a styling exercise. ReBake designed it as a mounting system, allowing cargo accessories to attach directly to the frame at multiple locations. That means riders can configure the bike for everything from carrying groceries and passengers to more serious utility duties.
There are two versions. The Abler45 is an EU L1e-B moped with a 45 km/h (28 mph) top speed, 4 kW nominal motor and 5.12 kW peak output. It starts at €3,990 including VAT.
📊 Industry & Real-World Impact
The €4,990 Abler80 steps up to the A1 light motorcycle category, increasing nominal power to 6.14 kW and peak power to 7.68 kW while pushing the top speed beyond 80 km/h (50 mph). Both versions use a direct-drive rear hub motor.

🔮 Strategic Outlook & What Lies Ahead
Energy comes from removable 2 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries weighing 17 kg (37.5 lb) apiece. The Abler45 comes standard with one battery but can carry two, while the Abler80 includes two for 4 kWh of total capacity. With both batteries, ReBake claims up to 160 km (99 miles) of low-speed urban range on the Abler45 or 114 km (71 miles) on the Abler80. Each battery can be charged either on or off the bike from a normal 230V outlet, reaching a full charge in four hours.
The rest of the hardware includes 14-inch cast wheels, 140mm of front suspension travel, dual rear shocks, front and rear disc brakes with combined braking, regenerative braking, and full LED lighting.
